Network Gathering 2013

4 September 2013
Our Network Gathering is taking place this weekend 6th - 8th of September in Cloughjordan, County Tipperary.

Cloughjordan is Ireland’s first and only Ecovillage. Ecovillages are urban or rural communities of people who strive to integrate a supportive social environment with a low impact way of life. To achieve this, they integrate various aspects of ecological design, permaculture, ecological building, green production, alternative energy, community building practices, and much more. It really is the perfect venue and we're delighted to spend the weekend in the midst of such innovation!
We've worked hard to ensure that the entire weekend is as useful for our young activists as possible and provides as many learning opportunities as we can squeeze in. In particular we've aimed the weekends events at our new Food & Farming Working Group in hopes to inspire them and give them some ideas for the year ahead.

Our speakers include:
  1. Mary Montaut of the Federation of Irish Beekeepers Association
  2. Stella Coffey – GM expert and activist
  3. Michael O Brien – Sustainable Livelihoods Policy & Advocacy Officer at Trocaire
  4. Fergal Anderson & Emanuela Ruso - Food Soverignty Experts and "Future Farmers"
  5. Bruce Darrell - Cloughjordan Community Farm member
