The Divestment Working Group are responsible for:
- Researching the current investment patterns of universities in Ireland
- Researching alternative investment opportunities in the area of renewable energies
- Compiling a report on university investment in Ireland
- Creating a Divestment Action Took Kit
- Writing blogs/articles on Divestment
- Organizing events such as demonstrations on Divestment in Irish universities
So far in the year of 2015 we have been very successful in raising awareness about Divestment to the general public by organising creative actions, marches and banner drops alongside People’s Climate Ireland and other groups. The group are now attempting to focus the campaign to a specific ask and establish a particular target. Watch this space and get involved for more divesting fun!
